The crash

On takeoff from the Airport the night mail plane swung to the right at a speed of 70 mph and travelled 600 meters off the runway hitting several obstacles, went down an embankment, broke into several parts and came to rest in flames by the Route Nationale 7.
The investigations concluded that the flight engineer had made a mistake which resulted in the loss of control.

The mail

As this was a mail flight the plane carried a large load of mail. Are large part of the mail was destroyed by the fire. Some of the recovered itesms are in pretty good condition while others show signs of fire.
The plane carried mail mostly from France, but some items from other countries are known as well.
So far only one Nordic item has been recorded.
